| An early HITS unit was developed by May 1981 - In developing a "light line" generator to pick out the profile for measurement by stereo photogrammetry it became obvious that having a fixed camera to object distance meant that we could use a single photograph technique - The unit that generated the “light line” was christened FITS (Flash Illuminated Tunnel Section) as the plane of light was generated using a ring flash |
