| Early FITS unit being constructed - The first FITS units were made from two tin trays for the outer aperture and two flan tins for the inner aperture - The “light line” was generated by a ring flash fitted inside the flan tins - The tin tray and flan tin unit was mounted on an aluminium frame and insulated from the trolley using Mini exhaust mounting blocks, which can be seen fitted to the frame |
